Alternative Fuel

In many developing countries the issues of deforestation, limited or expensive fuel sources (such as wood, electricity, kerosene), the need to walk long distances to retrieve wood for cooking, along with the fact that cooking indoors with wood causes many health problems, creates the need for alternative fuels.

The use of solar cooking, solar power, briquettes, clay cooking stoves, etc. are potentially economically viable solutions for individual households as well as better for the environment. A few resource links for alternative fuels include solarcookers.org, tearfund.org, legacyfound.org.
